Project Overview

  • In 2008, the First Baptist Church of Merrifield (FBCM) embarked upon a journey to plan, design, and build a new church edifice. To assist this journey, Pastor Martin T. Pickett, the Project Advisor, Fact-Finding team and congregation authorized the formation of the Nehemiah 4:6 Covenant Leadership team.

Corporate Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

I begin this prayer acknowledging that You are my God and worthy to be praised. Settle my mind, body and spirit so I can spend this time with You. Right now, I come to you with my heart open to the vision You have given for First Baptist Church of Merrifield. In particular, I am seeking You to help me along the special journey to build a more fitting physical dwelling place in which to worship You. I may not know all the details of this journey but I am trusting in You. As Your Precious Son gave up His Heavenly Place to serve You on earth and sacrifice His All, I ask You to give me the mind to work and sacrifice so that this piece of Your vision is manifested through me. Help me to see how to build up myself and my First Baptist Church of Merrifield brothers and sisters so that together we may expand Your Kingdom here on earth. I pray for Your Anointing Holy Spirit to lead, guide, teach, direct, and sustain First Baptist Church of Merrifield so that we remain on the Wall, as Nehemiah did, to serve You. In closing, through Thy Son Jesus Christ, I offer this petition and myself for Your Glory and Honor. AMEN
